A brief history of the Canadian Pacific Detroit Lakes Subdivision:

06/26/21

This basic deck girder bridge crosses the Wild Rice River just south of Mahnomen.
It was built in 1901 when the Soo Line built through the region. The original approaches were wooden trestle spans, and the piers were originally built of a wooden material.
In 1974, the approaches were replaced by the current I-Beam spans. The current substructures are constructed of concrete pile piers.

The author has ranked this bridge as being locally significant, due to the age of the bridge.
